Lilian Quijada-Madrid

Junior Specialist
Lily is a Junior Specialist in the Aguilar Lab and a post-baccalaureate scholar in the UCSF PROPEL Program. She grew up in the San Francisco Mission District and earned her bachelors degree in Integrative Biology from the University of California, Berkeley. Her interest in science began in high school when she participated in UCSF’s Science & Health Education Partnership (SEP) where she conducted an eight-week research project on mouse embryonic stem cells. Although the pandemic limited her ability to continue research during undergrad, she came back to UCSF after her gap year upon graduation. Lily joined the Aguilar Lab in early October of 2023 and is currently researching activating receptors on Natural Killer (NK) cells. She hopes to continue doing research in Immunology in the future and is currently exploring where her science career will take her. Outside of the lab, Lily enjoys playing video games, trying new food spots, and enjoying a delicious cup of iced coffee!
